Biography
I help companies improve their profitability and revenue while decreasing complexity and costs.
We get this job done in many ways, such as by:
- Creating long-term visions and strategic plans
- Prioritizing and action planning
- Improving key business processes
- Creating user-friendly process designs, performance measures and process management practices
- Team and individual training
- Coaching and mentoring
I also work with companies that are changing more rapidly than expected they would. My work with them stabilizes, simplifies and improves the way their companies work, enabling them to focus on customers and their needs, and building for the future.
Before I started my consulting business, I worked at Apple Computer, evaluating and improving key business processes in product development, manufacturing, distribution, finance and administration, and sales and marketing.
I have an MBA from UC Berkeley with an emphasis in finance and strategic planning. My undergraduate degree is from Iowa State University where I majored in journalism.
I was also a national examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, which recognizes full-organization performance excellence. As part of that work, I was on three site visit teams that evaluated national award finalists. It was a vigorous, rigorous and inspiring experience. It also motivated me to help as many companies as I can to achieve their own performance excellence. It makes them more profitable, and also far more satisfying to work with, and work in.
