Strong innovation is a form of security

The national and world economy will grow consistently again – but no one knows quite when that is.

In the meantime, one thing you can do to increase your security in uncertain times is to improve your innovative skills. Learn to create better solutions to problems you face – whether they’re familiar problems, or ones that are brand new.

Here are a few idea-starters for approaching challenges with a more expansive perspective and skills:

We progress when we think more and better.
Plato

The creative process is like music which takes root with extraordinary force and rapidity.
Peter Tchaikovsky

Man must go back to nature for information.
Thomas Paine

Wisdom consists in being able to distinguish among dangers and make a choice of the least harmful.
Niccolo Machiavelli

I waited for the idea to consolidate, for the grouping and composition of themes to settle themselves in my brain. When I felt I held enough cards I determined to pass to action, and did so.
Claude Monet

Ideas must work through the brains and the arms of good and brave men, or they are no better than dreams.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

And then there’s this perspective:

One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries.
A.A. Milne
